The 'drid

After no sleep and a 12 hour travel time, i am in madrid.
And the first thing i do when i wake up: walk into a glass door, face first.
Great start!

Met up with Leticia this morning with Paloma and went to a museum that had a fantastic view over madrid. Took a glamour shot with leti.

Though i am still exhausted, the excitement has taken over and i am super exited. Tonight i am FINALLY going to be meeting all of the amigos of my spanish chicas.

I ate a fantastic lunch with Sara and Leti. GRACIAS SARA.

NOW, im having a coffee with Sara, Paloma and paloma's father Sebastian.

Supere Trupere

For the last few days my host sister Clothilde (10) has been begging me to watch Mamma Mia with her, ever since she was singing the title song one night and I joined in for a little pre-dinner disco happening.
However i did watch it, dubbed in french mind you, and though i understood it all, it was just absurd. My host mom walked in half way through and started singing along and explaining how she had gone to see this with her other 3 daughters and a host student (girl) before me and how they had a blast. She was extremely excited about it, and I quickly reflected on my disposition, and decided to embrace it..

Actually Seeing Music in Clermont + Beastie Boyz

Leo and I, Beastie Boyz 4 evr

Alright, actually need to start making this a regular habit. For real this time.
Final week here is getting down to the wire, and money's gettin tight, I've been having a lot of fun and not worrying about the funds, and that is starting to hurt my wallet.
But now im aware and I can keep on with a more mindful disposition on things. So that is a plus i guess.

Last week was a good one though.
Both Real Estate and Black lips passed through Clermont, which was surprising, to say the least.  Anyway, they were both solid sets, and the crowd was surprisingly mostly over 35, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. But it was unexpected. Black lips played a lot of material off of Let It Bloom, opening with Sea of Blasphemy (tight), which was a plus seeing as i have not really checked out their new album.  But it was a good show. First time I've seen them since high school.
But the Real Estate show, through thoroughly less attended, was just too great.  Also being that i got to chat and hang with the dudes from the group for a while afterwards which was fantastic. They are quite nice guys and they have such a solid live show.  Highlight being Suburban Dogs off of their first album. But their album that they are touring for right now, Days, is what I've been listening to all the time since it dropped in october, so it was perfect that i got to check them out here. See them if you can.

Ass for now, i have been feeling awfully creative in the last few days, and i have had a lot of time to flush some ideas out.  So all is well for me.

Im going to Madrid in 5 days to see some good friends and spend christmas with them.  It will be a good reunion. I can hardly wait.

Mozart Is A Fucking Rocker

Yesterday, I had my first class at the conservatory. As i was waiting outside of the classroom, another student stands to wait for the classroom to open up and he is wearing a black t-shirt with red letters that said:

Mozart Is A Fucking Rocker

Looked up later and found out that it's a shirt that is sold at the french version of Best Buy.

+1 France

I have arrived. All is more than well.

Slept 14 hours last night. I woke up around 2 o'clock, was given a double espresso, then chicken, potatoes and red wine. Probably the best "breakfast" I've ever had.

The night has settled in. I am all set up. Creativity comes on.
